Shipyard Brewing Companyıs Imperial Porter Wins Award at San Diego International Beer Festival: Second West Coast Award for this Maine-made Beer

PORTLAND, MAINE - (June 9, 2010) - Shipyard Brewing Companyıs Pugsleyıs Signature Series Imperial Porter was awarded 3rd place in the Porter category at the San Diego County Fairıs 4th annual San Diego International Beer Festival. Approximately 640 entries were judged from 15 states and 22 different countries.

Imperial Porter is part of Shipyardıs award-winning Pugsleyıs Signature Series which is named after Shipyardıs master brewer, Alan Pugsley. This is a full bodied, very dark, malty beer with a good roasted character. Imperial Porter has an OG of 1.070, rounding out after fermentation with just a slight residual sweetness and cutting dry at the finish.

Hops: Warrior, English Fuggles, and East Kent Goldings
OG: 1.070
ABV: 7.1%
Other awards for this beer include a silver at the 2010 Australian International Beer Awards and a 2nd place award in the porter category at the 2009 West Coast Brewers Festival.
