Federal Jack's Restaurant and Brew Pub: First Place Chocolate Lover's Award for Best Specialty Desert

KENNEBUNK, MAINE - (April 20, 2004) Federal Jack's Restaurant and Brew Pub's "Chocolate Vanilla Float" won top place in the "Best Specialty Dessert" category at the annual Chocolate Lover's Fling and Auction in Portland, Maine this April.

"Our chocolate vanilla float is made up of homemade chocolate soda with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and a cherry on top," said executive chef Chris Gordon.

Federal Jack's has won in the past for Chocolate Nachos, Chocolate Root Beer Float, and Blue Fin Stout Ice Cream.

"We're a brew pub so I always like to come up with something fun that reflects the spirit of our restaurant," said Gordon. "Hand-crafted chocolate soda makes great use of our tap system and a float is the perfect fit for a brew pub."

This event benefits the Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine and was held at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland. About 700 people attended this event which raised more than $20,000 for the organization.

Federal Jack's Restaurant and Brew Pub in Kennebunk began in 1992 and is one of Maine's original brew pubs and working breweries.
