Two Gold Beer Awards from California for Shipyard Brewing Company

PORTLAND, MAINE (September 6, 2006)Shipyard Brewing Company has been honored top awards in the prestigious Commercial Beer Competition at the 84th Annual Los Angeles County Fair. This internationally recognized fair is the largest in North America and is attended by more than 1 million people.

1) GOLD
Chamberlain Pale Ale
Category: Classic English-Style Pale Ale


2) GOLD
Shipyard IPA
Category: English IPA


In 2005, Pumpkinhead took home the gold and Blue Fin Stout and Old Thumper each won silvers. In 2004, Old Thumper won "Best in Show" and also took home a gold award.

In addition, Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale just took home 3rd place in the 2006 California Brewers Festival Fruit Beer category.
