"Hike the River for a Cure" Raised $3,000 for Maine Cancer Foundationıs Womenıs Cancer Fund

BETHEL, MAINE (October 30, 2006­ On Saturday, October 28th Hike the River for a Cure raised over $3,000 for the Maine Cancer Foundationıs Womenıs Cancer Fund. This hike was held at the Shipyard Brew Haus White Cap Lodge, Sunday River.

Despite the inclement weather, 56 people hiked a 2 _ mile loop on mountain trails surrounding White Cap Lodge.

The Maine Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well being of Maine people.

100% of the funds raised by Hike the River for a Cure stay in Maine and go towards scientific research, professional and public education and patient support programs.

Hike the River for a Cure was part of the 1st Annual Pumpkinhead Festival at Shipyard Brew Haus White Cap Lodge, Sunday River.

Next yearıs hike will be held Saturday, October 27th.
