New Chamberlain Pale Ale 6-Pack Honors Maine Civil War Hero Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain: Distributed Nationwide

PORTLAND, MAINE (MAY 1, 2007) For the first time since it was originally brewed in 1995, Shipyard Brewing Company's Chamberlain Pale Ale is now available in 6-packs and being distributed nationwide. Up until now, this product has only been available in limited markets in 22 oz. bottles, on draft, and periodically in the Captainıs Collection mixed 12-pack.

This classic English style pale ale is named after world-renowned Maine Civil War hero Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. The artwork for the new package was designed by Maine Civil War artist Ken Hendricksen.

In 2006, Chamberlain Pale Ale won a gold award for best English-Style Pale Ale at the Los Angeles County Fairıs prestigious Commercial Beer Competition.

³This award and Chamberlainıs national appeal as a Civil War hero inspired us to create this new package,² said sales and marketing manager Bruce Forsley. ³The beer and packaging recognize and celebrate Chamberlainıs character and the contributions this great man made to Maine and to our country.²

A portion of the proceeds are used to support and maintain the Pejepscot Historical Societyıs Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum in Brunswick, Maine.

The golden copper color of this award-winning beer is enhanced by Pale Ale, Crystal, and Chocolate malts. Chamberlain Pale Ale is dry and crisp upfront with an aromatic hoppy finish, featuring Fuggles, Cascade, and Tettnang hops. 4.9% alcohol by volume.
