Top California Beer Awards for Sea Dog and Shipyard Brewing Companies

PORTLAND, MAINE (May 10, 2007) - Sea Dog and Shipyard Brewing Companies have been honored top awards in the prestigious 8th annual West Coast Brew Festıs Commercial Craft Competition. Ribbons will be awarded May 19 in Sacramento.

Sea Dog Brewing Company - (Topsham and Bangor, Maine)
1st Place - Sea Dog Hazelnut Porter
Category: Porter

3rd Place - Sea Dog Apricot
Category: Fruit Beer

Shipyard Brewing Company - (Portland, Maine)
1st Place - Chamberlain Pale Ale
Category: English Pale Ale

2nd Place - Old Thumper
Category: English Pale Ale

3rd Place - Shipyard Winter Ale
Category: Red Ale

In 2004, Old Thumper won 1st Place English Pale Ale at this competition.

Master brewer Alan Pugsley oversees the brewing for both these companies. Sea Dog and Shipyard beer is available in over 35 states across the U.S.
