Australian International Beer Awards Honor Sea Dog and Shipyard Brewing Companies with Three Bronze Medals
PORTLAND, MAINE (May 17, 2007) - Sea Dog and Shipyard Brewing Companies are two of just nineteen U.S. craft brewers to win medals at the 2007 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) in Melbourne, Australia. AIBA is the showcase awards event in the Asia Pacific Region and entries were received from 39 countries.

Bronze -- Chamberlain Pale Ale
Class 03 Ale Packaged - British Style Pale Ale
Bronze 2007 Brewer's Choice Honey Porter
Class 05 Porter Packaged
Sea Dog Brewing Company -- (Bangor and Topsham, Maine)
Bronze Sea Dog Bluepaw Wild Blueberry Wheat Ale
Class 17 Fruit Beer Packaged
Of special note is the award for the 2007 Brewer's Choice Honey Porter. This special edition brew was created by Falmouth, Maine resident Bruce Elam who has been a brewer with Shipyard since 1998. Each year, Brewer's Choice features a new beer recipe created by Shipyardıs award-winning brew house team and Elamıs recipe was selected by Shipyard as the 2007 limited edition brew.
This month, Shipyard Brewing Company's Chamberlain Pale Ale also won 1st place in the English Pale Ale category at the prestigious West Coast Brew Fest's Commercial Craft Competition in Sacramento, California.
Master brewer Alan Pugsley oversees the brewing for both these companies. Sea Dog and Shipyard beer is available in over 35 states across the U.S.
